Mario Kart Wii Review

Mario Kart Wii is a great game that has come out for the Wii a year ago. It is a sequel to the Mario Kart that came out for the GameCube and the Nintendo 64. MK Wii is essentially the same concept as the other Mario Kart games. You race against opponents in various courses to try and win. You also get to use certain items that can aid you such as in causing your opponent to get hit or by making yourself big to squish all other opponents. MK Wii even though is the same game, it does have many new features that sets it apart from other Mario Kart games.

The controls in the game have been altered to match with the Wii. There are 3 ways to play the game: with the steering wheel, the wii remote, or the GameCube controller. With the steering wheel, you basically use the steering wheel to turn just like in many other racing games. With the wii remote, you tilt the remote to turn. The GameCube controls are similar to the Mario Kart on the GameCube. These controls really help to set it apart from other Mario Kart games.

The game introduces the concept of bikes and motorcycles. They are essentially the same thing, but they can perform wheelies for extra speed bonuses and you can also perform tricks off of jumps for extra points. Although they do have the comeback of being a little harder to steer.

There are all new maps to play in such as a new Bowser's castle and Wario's gold mine to name a few. All of these maps are extremely fun to play and are very interesting.

There is also the added feature of online gameplay where you can play against players from all over the world. Usually these servers are never empty and you can almost always find people to play with making it a lot of fun playing against people with the same skill or even better than you.

These are just some of the extra features found in MK Wii. Mario Kart Wii is a great game to play and is clearly superior to its predecessors.
